Support for your employeesAt times when an employer feels it necessary – either following occupational health assessment or employee assistance – a referral can be made for appropriate counselling support.
Your employee will be offered a safe space to explore their difficulties away from the workplace, with an experienced and resilient counsellor. This can be especially useful at times of stress or pressure at work, during difficult negotiations, or following illness. I have a special interest and over ten years experience of working with drug and alcohol addictions, and with forensic behaviour.
Trauma Interventions
Trauma and critical events in the workplace need effective and sensitive management to minimise the long term consequences such as post traumatic stress disorder PTSD, prolonged sickness, poor performance or absenteeism.
Trauma in organisations is systemic, in that it usually has wide ranging impact and effects internal and external relations.
Successful trauma interventions are tailored to your organisations needs to assist your organisation to recover; typically this includes initial consultation, attendance on site to see staff individually or in groups and delivery of appropriate trauma therapies either delivered in person or by telephone. A follow up intervention is usually recommended a month or so after the incident.
Critical events may include sudden or violent death of staff or a client, suicide, serious assault, robbery or industrial accidents.
